The first-ever rally for Harri Rovanperä was the 1989 Winter Rally in Jyväskylä, his hometown in Finland. Competing in a Sunbeam Avenger, Harri and co-driver Jouni Närhi finished sixth in the junior B class. In the Peurunka Rally of the same year, Risto Pietiläinen took the over co-driver's seat of the same Avenger. The first World Rally Championship win of their career was still almost 12 years, more than 150 car races, and over 40 WRC rallies ahead. They drove their way to the top in the cars you see here.
